Microcredentials >> Badge: Weed Identification
« back to courses page
The Weed Identification was designed with seasonal staff in mind and provides learners with an introduction to plant and weed identification based upon physical characteristics, biology, lifecycle and preferred environment. Additionally, strategies for the management and control of weeds and invasive plants are explored in agricultural and environmental systems using the concept of Integrated Weed Management (IWM).
The Weed Identification badge is made-up of 5 short micro-credentials that can be taken individually to refresh learners on a specific topic, or all together to provide well-rounded training to those less familiar at recognizing and classifying invasive plants. These credentials are:
1. The Physical Characteristics of Weeds
2. The Impact of Weeds on Ecosystems
3. Weed Growth and Dispersal
4. Identifying Selected Weeds
5. Integrated Weed Management Strategies for Invasive Plants
