What You’ll Learn
Our curriculum is designed to take you from the shearing shed floor to a finished fleece through five core pillars:
  • Shearing Set-Up: Designing an ergonomic workspace that ensures safety for both the shearer and the animal.
  • Sheep Handling: Master the "dance" of footwork and positioning to control sheep of all sizes with minimal stress.
  • Proper Shearing Technique: Learn the standard long-blow patterns and sequence used by professionals to achieve a clean, second-cut-free fleece.
  • Equipment Set-Up & Maintenance: Hands-on training in adjusting handpiece tension, and troubleshooting gear in the field.
  • Wool Handling: Proper skirting, sorting, and packaging techniques to maximize the value of your clip.
